Gentlemen of Style

Surgram Films and Guerreisms have collaborated to produce a video on fellow Gentlemen around the globe. They been all over fashion magazines, blogs, photos, videos, interviews. These men are not styled by others, they have developed very personal styles through the years with trial and error.

Style needs to be developed and is individual for everyone.

Fashion Recycled

Some of you hate this idea,

Some of you live by this idea,

Some of you haven't even heard of this idea,

It's called "Thrifting", act of shopping at a thrift store, flea market, garage sale, or a shop of charitable organisation, usually with the intent of finding interesting items at a cheap price. I know that some of you have already been getting into this habit picking up great cheap vintage items.

I personally like this concept because I believe that you don't need to go into flagship stores and purchase overpriced clothing to be fashionable. Style can be affordable if you have a great taste, attentive eye and also have no problems with hygiene (beware to wash before you wear!).

This is an example of a successful person that lives by thrifting, Sean Brown and he even has his own website that promotes this concept The Art of Reuse.

Think everyone should attempt adapting to this concept cause it reduces your expenses while keeping yourselves stylish :)

They also have a crew of thrifters, opening a second hand store, promoting this concept to people, blogging news about thrifting and educating others with this idea.

The Sound of Creation

Many people say sound makes 50% of the film, but many people don't buy that idea.

I hope tis video will solidify that fact.

Unlike a lot of product videos this one takes the extra mile into detail. The sound of dust, sawing, sanding, unlocking, refining and even the interview's audio is very nice and crisp.

I like how that even though they have a slider to make movement shots they still use a lot of still close-ups on the tools, equipment, hands, boards, etc... The lighting is also very balanced as well it's a piece done by the pros because it's so well done.

They use the Red Epic camera which I think is crazy because of all the dust flowing around it might get into the lens elements or the camera... :S

The sound definitely makes this video a whole lot better.

Spaced Out Timelapse Photograhy

I know I am constantly posting up timelapse videos or skateboarding videos but hey this is pretty "out of this world".

These photos are taken from the International Space Station and edited into a fine piece of video. All photos are taken by the crew up there on the ISS.

Not that many of us can go out of space and take photos or videos so this is the closest thing I guess?

80 Years of Lego

Lego is a legendary company, I mean who has touched or played lego before in their lives?

The history of Lego is actually quite interesting and it shows that people who succeeds are the ones who prevail.

I must admit this goes on for a little too long but then it does try to pack in a 80 year story into 17mins...

It's worth your time cause it's a heart warming story and who knows it might inspire you too :)

Week.6.Eat.Love.I don't pray

Dark Knight Falls

I wanted to watch and post this earlier but I didn't watch The Dark Knight Rises (2012) until Friday.

It's an incredible stop-motion. Well thought out with great set design, lighting, props, photography, visual graphics etc..

This is not "much" of a spoiler with some actions that are imitating a few shots from the Dark Knight Rises.

This is a must see if you are a batman fan.

P.S. I really really want that Joker figurine!!!

Creative Cinematography by Shwood

Well everyone is trying to be creative these days, it's the way to stand out from the crowd and really embed their work in people's mind, it's been very competitive.

I think one of the ways to become more creative is definitely become more knowledgeable in your field which can be turn into skill.

I just discovered an new technique in this video. Although it's a old technique it hasn't been used in many videos which brings a fresh look into their Lookbook video.

How they achieve this technique is calld "Steroscopy". It creates an illusion to the audience of a 3D depth video. It is achieved by simultaneously recording two video side by side and switching between the shot between moments.

I guess the idea behind using the technique because it is related to eye wear, two optics side by side. Like blinking left and right repetitively.

Anyway I've definitely learnt something, and might be useful in my future videos :)

Tiny Timelapse Machine

Kickstarter is an awesome website in which if you haven't known of their existence by now... you should really check them out.

Many entrepreneurs have started their products in this website and inventing creations that are innovating and exciting for both the consumers and the creator themselves.

It is like a testing ground for people that are thinking to mass produce their products, wondering if it'll sell.

Here's is an example of the product that they have uploaded.

I would really love to have this but unfortunately it's not compatible with my GH2 camera..:(
